Anurag Dhanda Urges PM Modi to Focus on China, Stop Confronting Citizens

His statement placed the focus on the government's handling of domestic concerns alongside its approach to relations with the neighbouring country.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Anurag Dhanda on Saturday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging him to focus on China instead of confronting Indian citizens. Dhanda shared his remarks in a post on X on October 25.

In his post, Dhanda wrote in Hindi, “अपने नागरिकों से लड़ना छोड़ो मोदी जी और जहाँ चीन को लाल आँख दिखानी चाहिए वहाँ दिखाओ.” The statement translates to, “Stop fighting with your own citizens, PM Modi, and show China the sternness where it is needed.”

AAP Leader: Stop Confronting Citizens

Through his remarks, the AAP leader questioned the Centre’s approach towards its own citizens and called for a stronger stance towards China. His statement placed the focus on the government’s handling of domestic concerns alongside its approach to relations with the neighbouring country.

Dhanda’s post also highlighted the contrast he sought to draw between the government’s actions at home and its response to China. By directly addressing the Prime Minister, he urged Modi to demonstrate firmness in dealing with China rather than engaging in confrontations with citizens.

The post comes amid continuing political exchanges between opposition leaders and the BJP-led Central government over national security, governance and the treatment of citizens. Opposition parties have frequently raised questions about the government’s policies and its approach to various domestic and international issues.

Dhanda’s statement is part of the broader political debate over India’s relationship with China and the government’s responsibilities towards its citizens. However, the post itself did not provide further details or specific examples to support the criticism.

The remarks have brought attention to the AAP leader’s position on the issue, with his message centring on the expectation that the government should prioritise citizens’ concerns while maintaining a firm diplomatic and strategic approach towards China.
