CM Yogi Adityanath Says Ayodhya Deepotsav Has Become a Global Cultural Bridge Connecting India With the World

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has described Ayodhya’s Deepotsav as a global cultural bridge connecting India with different countries through the shared heritage of the Ramayana. He said the annual celebration has evolved beyond a festival of lights into an international platform showcasing India’s cultural and spiritual traditions.

In a social media post on November 4, Yogi highlighted the participation of artists from countries including Sri Lanka, South Africa, Indonesia and Thailand, who present different versions of the Ram Katha in their respective languages and traditional art forms.

International Artists Bring Different Versions of Ram Katha to Ayodhya

The Chief Minister said artists from different countries bring their cultural traditions together in Ayodhya through performances based on the life and teachings of Lord Ram. Comparing the cultural exchange to rivers flowing into one ocean, he said diverse traditions come together in Ayodhya through a shared connection with Ram.

He also highlighted the role of modern technology in making Deepotsav more grand and engaging. According to Yogi, technological innovations are helping present India’s cultural heritage to a wider international audience while connecting the younger generation with its traditions.

CM Yogi Adityanath Credits Double-Engine Government for Ayodhya’s Cultural Transformation

Taking a political swipe at previous governments in Uttar Pradesh, Yogi said that before 2017, the cultural vision of those in power was limited to showcasing family prominence through events such as the Saifai Mahotsav. He alleged that Ayodhya’s rich cultural and religious heritage did not receive the attention it deserved.

Contrasting the previous approach with his government’s vision, the Chief Minister said, “For them, the family was the state; for us, the entire state is our family.”

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance and the BJP’s double-engine government for giving Ayodhya’s cultural identity renewed recognition and prominence. Yogi said the government’s approach has been focused on presenting the city’s heritage on a larger platform.

Deepotsav Showcases India’s Cultural Heritage to the World

Yogi said Deepotsav represents a coming together of the faith of millions of devotees, modern technology and India’s ancient cultural heritage. He added that the celebration’s growing international presence is helping bring different cultures closer through their shared connection with the Ramayana.
