When someone believes that stars, planets or moon phases can affect their future or character, it is seen as associating partners with Allah (shirk). 

In Islam, shirk is one of the gravest sins. Allah alone is the Creator and the only one who controls our destiny. So relying on astrological signs instead of Allah for guidance is not just wrong, it's spiritually dangerous.

Can Horoscopes Predict the Future?

Many horoscope readings claim to predict what kind of day, month, or future someone will have. But Islam teaches that only Allah has knowledge of the unseen and future. Believing that a zodiac sign can tell you how your life will go means you're putting trust in creation, not the Creator.

This goes against the Islamic understanding of qadr (divine destiny). A Muslim is supposed to trust in Allah’s plan, not in retrograde planets or birth charts.

Islam encourages believers to spend time wisely. Instead of reading horoscopes, Muslims are advised to reflect, pray, and build strong character. Islam also warns against superstitions and sorcery—both of which astrology can fall under.

In the end, your personality, success, and future are shaped by your actions and Allah’s will—not by where the moon or stars were when you were born.
