7-seater Toyota Corolla Cross to launch in India soon, will compete with Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus, all we know so far

7-seater Toyota Corolla Cross: The Innova Hycross and the Urban Cruiser Hyryder are two new utility vehicles that Toyota just debuted in the Indian market. The company is also getting ready to release a brand-new SUV Coupe that will be based on the brand-new Suzuki Fronx. A recent media story claims that Toyota is also developing a larger, three-row SUV based on the Corolla Cross.

The Japanese automaker will prepare a separate version for the Indian market even though the Toyota Corolla Cross is currently available in other areas. According to information, the Indian market will receive a longer variation of the Toyota Corolla Cross.

7-seater Toyota Corolla Cross

The Innova Hycross’ TNGA-C platform will serve as the foundation for the upcoming 7-seat Toyota Corolla Cross SUV. It’s possible that the new SUV and the Hycross will use similar parts and powertrains. In fact, the SUV might be produced on the same line.

The Innova Hycross’s TNGA-C platform receives a 2,850mm wheelbase. Toyota will work to bring it down, though. We may anticipate that the 7-seater variant for the Indian market will have a wheelbase of roughly 2,800mm since the international specification Corolla Cros has a wheelbase of 2,640mm. In this segment of three-row SUVs, Toyota has been absent. It will be possible for the company to introduce a new product and provide a more affordable 7-seater because the price of the Innova and the recently introduced Innova Hycross now starts at a very high point.

Expected Specifications and Features

With the TNGA-C platform, Toyota will be able to select either a torsion beam suspension with a lower price tag or an all-independent multi-link suspension with low-friction dampers. To distinguish it from the vehicle with global specifications, the new SUV will probably undergo design alterations. It most likely will use one of Hycross’ available engines. A 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 172 horsepower and a 2.0-litre petrol engine equipped with Toyota’s powerful hybrid self-charging technology will likely be the two engine choices available.

The flexible seats in the new Toyota Corolla Cross 7-seater SUV allow the rear seats to be folded flat to create a flat floor. A tailgate that opens electronically may potentially be added to the SUV. Engineers will likely alter the C and D pillars of the SUV and the firm will build longer rear doors for convenient access to the third-row seats. Visibility in the third row should be improved by a thinner D pillar and a wider glasshouse area.
