Hero Motocorp: In the nation, the market for electric two-wheelers is growing rapidly. Companies are working to develop new kinds of electric vehicles. Hero MotoCorp, the nation’s top two-wheeler manufacturer, recently announced a partnership with American company Zero Motorcycle to produce a high-end electric bike.
With this partnership, Hero MotoCorp’s large production, sourcing, and marketing capabilities are combined with Zero’s expertise in creating electric motorcycles and powertrains.

Hero Motocorp and Zero Motorcycles
Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the two businesses, committing them to work together to produce electric vehicles. In accordance with the contract, Hero MotoCorp will be in charge of manufacturing, sourcing, and marketing the cars, while Zero Motorcycles will contribute technological know-how to their development.
Hero MotoCorp approved a maximum equity investment of USD 60 million (Rs 491 crore) in Zero Bikes in September 2022. The company hasn’t yet provided details about the debut date for the jointly produced product, though.
Hero electric vehicles
The company has already introduced its first EV, the VIDA V1 scooter, under its new mobility brand, VIDA, Powered by Hero. In Bangalore, Delhi, and Jaipur, it has also started using its public charging infrastructure. In all three locations, the business has already installed close to 300 public charging stations.
