Lexus LX 500d exterior, interior and features

The Lexus LX 500d is essentially a more luxurious version of the well-liked Toyota Land Cruiser LC300. It has an upright body with squared-off wheel arches and big alloy wheels. The big Lexus trademark grille and headlamp design are among the distinctive Lexus design characteristics added to the SUV.

Although the LX 500d shares a similar look to the LC300, it has significantly different rear quarter windows. The LX has a linked light bar at the back and replaces the logo on the tailgate with Lexus lettering.

Tan, red, black, and a mix of white and brown are the four interior colour options for the Lexus LX 500d. In contrast to other countries, India exclusively offers the 5-seat option of the LX.

The LX 500d’s interior features a dual-screen layout, with the lower 7.0-inch screen serving as the climate control system and the upper 12.3-inch screen serving as the infotainment system. In the instrument cluster, there is also an 8.0-inch multi-information display. Additionally, there will be two 11.6-inch touchscreens with wireless remote controls for the backseat passengers.

Powertrain and rivals

The LX 450d diesel and LX 570 petrol versions were available for the prior generation LX. However, Lexus stopped making the diesel engine after the BS6 standards were implemented. However, Lexus will no longer provide the LX 600 petrol variation and will instead only offer the LX 500d diesel model.

The 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine that powers the most recent Land Cruiser also powers the LX 500d. It is coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission and generates 309 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. The LX comes with all-wheel drive as standard equipment and an off-road multi-terrain mode. Additionally, it has several drive modes, including Custom, Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S, and Sport S+.

The long-wheelbase variant of the new Range Rover, which costs between Rs. 2.56 crore and Rs. 3.43 crore, competes with the new luxury SUV from Lexus (ex-showroom). Additionally, it will compete with the Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600, which costs Rs. 2.92 crores (ex-showroom).
