Maruti Grand Vitara CNG variant to launch in India soon, what you must know about this vehicle before booking

Maruti Grand Vitara CNG: This year, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has launched new models quickly one after the other. The moderately upgraded Ertiga and XL6 MPVs, the new generation Brezza compact SUV, the brand-new Alto K10, and the Grand Vitara midsize SUV, among others, came after the significantly upgraded Baleno.

The biggest automaker in the nation has swiftly increased its S-CNG range in addition to updating its current models and entering new markets. Toyota has started taking reservations for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder CNG after the Glanza CNG’s debut. It is anticipated to debut in the domestic market sometime next month.

Maruti Grand Vitara CNG variant

The Grand Vitara CNG, which Maruti Suzuki is more likely to introduce around the same time, has had some of its specifications leaked online. The five-seater competes in the very competitive midsize sector against vehicles like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Hector, Nissan Kicks, MG Astor, and others, but none of them has a CNG engine.

The only SUVs in the segment featuring a powerful hybrid 1.5-litre three-cylinder Atkinson Cycle TNGA engine and a specific EV mode are the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. These vehicles boast impressive claimed fuel efficiency of close to 28 km/l. Additionally, they will get a CNG powertrain, making them the first SUVs in the class to do so.

When it is released, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara CNG will be the first Maruti car to offer a CNG option, a strong hybrid option and a moderate hybrid option. The introduction of a CNG version makes sense because it will appeal to consumers looking for a midsize SUV that is fuel-efficient but who find the price of the strong hybrid model unaffordable.

Similar to the Ertiga and XL6 CNGs, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder K15C mild hybrid petrol engine will probably produce roughly 88 horsepower and 98.5 Nm in the CNG mode. Prices should be about Rs. 70,000 higher than the corresponding mild-hybrid version. It could only be paired with a five-speed manual transmission (MT) with a 26.10 km/kg estimated fuel efficiency.
