Maruti Suzuki Jimny EV with futuristic features to launch soon, all you must know

Jimny EV: Due to its small size, tough design, and excellent capabilities, Suzuki’s Jimny has long been a well-liked off-road vehicle. However, as it can only be marketed in Europe as a commercial vehicle, the petrol version’s high CO2 emissions have been a significant barrier to its sales. But, things are going to improve as a result of the recent announcement of a Jimny EV.

With the Jimny EV, there’s an intriguing chance that the five-door model will also acquire some extra functionality, including a front “frunk” and some back baggage space. In addition to giving the Jimny a more functional edge without compromising its off-road capabilities, this would be a welcome addition for buyers seeking extra storage alternatives.

Powertrain

For the Jimny, Maruti and Suzuki will probably put the battery pack within the frame. This will probably serve as a superior packaging solution as well as greater battery protection. The Jimny might employ a 60kWh battery similar to the one shown in the eVX concept vehicle displayed at Auto Expo, and if the engineers require extra room, they could also use double-deck battery modules. Several body-on-frame SUVs have been successfully converted using this technique.

launch in 2026

For the European market, the Jimny EV has officially been announced. Suzuki announced forthcoming EVs for Europe with a picture of the vehicle. And for the three-door Jimny in Europe, going electric makes perfect sense. Remember that due to the large CO2 footprint of the petrol variant, the Jimny is only offered as a commercial vehicle in Europe today. For this reason, Suzuki will first introduce the Jimny EV in Europe. And that is the three-door model. The five-door variant, which will be built in India, will be what comes after it.
