Maruti will shortly manufacture a new 7-seat SUV, using the same engine options as the Grand Vitara

To start, Maruti will soon release a new 7-seater SUV based on the Grand Vitara that will not only share a comparable platform but also be powered by the same engine choices. A rebadged version of the newly released Toyota Innova Hycross in the Indian market will serve as the second 7-seater MPV. The 2.0L 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle Strong Hybrid Petrol and 2.0L NA Petrol engines will be the two available powertrain options for this new MPV, which will be the first rebadged Toyota vehicle to be introduced in the nation by Maruti.

Both of these engines utilise an automated transmission configuration and send power to the front wheels. It goes without saying that this new MPV will probably have slight aesthetic modifications that set it apart from the Innova Hycross.
