Tesla Lying about its EVs range, ignoring disappointed customers’ complaints, Report

Tesla: One of the top producers of electric vehicles (EVs), Tesla, is currently embroiled in a dispute as the EV market continues to grow. Recent reports imply that Tesla overstated their EVs’ range predictions on purpose. Among consumers and industry insiders, this news has aroused questions and stirred discussions.

Tesla Lying about its EVs range

According to a Tesla employee who spoke to Reuters, Tesla programmers rigged the cars’ range-estimating software to overestimate how far they could travel before running out of battery and then readjust to a more realistic projection when the battery’s charge fell below 50%. This idea originated with CEO Elon Musk, the person behind Tesla.

The article claimed that when customers called Tesla to schedule service appointments because their range didn’t match dashboard projections, Tesla personnel would follow instructions to inform the clients that they had performed “remote diagnostics” and cancel the appointment.

According to reports, the business even established a whole “diversion team” in Las Vegas to divert attention away from client complaints over the erroneous range. Managers reportedly reminded the crew that for each appointment it cancelled, they were saving Tesla $1,000.
