Toyota Vitz: Re-badged! Suzuki Celerio launched in South Africa, all we know about this car

Toyota Vitz: The joint venture between the Japanese manufacturers Toyota and Suzuki has launched a variety of its vehicles in a number of international countries, including South Africa and India. The Toyota Vitz hatchback car, introduced in South Africa, is the most recent model to come from this line. The Maruti Celerio, which is now available in the Indian market, is primarily what this vehicle is. The Agya hatchback will be replaced by the new vehicle in South African markets.

Design

The latest generation Celerio that is offered in India shares similarities with the design of the new Toyota Vitz. The Toyota emblem and Vitz badging are the sole differences. There haven’t been any images of the interior, though. However, it is also likely to remain largely unchanged and not undergo any significant changes from the Maruti Celerio. The colour of the interior and the steering wheel, however, could change in various ways.

Toyota’s hatchback will be powered by a dual VVT and idle start-stop equipped 1.0-litre K10C, 3-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine that is also offered in the Celerio. This engine has the ability to produce 89 Nm of torque and 65.7 horsepower of power. It will have the choice of a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. One of the nation’s most fuel-efficient vehicles is the Celerio. Its AMT variant achieves ARAI-certified mileage of 26.68kmpl, while its manual gearbox option achieves 25.23kmpl.

The 313-litre boot size of the Toyota Vitz will be identical to that of the Celerio.
