Vayve Mobility: The Pune Based Company To Unveil Its 2 Seater Electric Cars In January 2023

Electric Cars: Nilesh Bajaj, CEO of the business line, said that the prototype of Vayve Mobility’s 2-seater electric car will be shown at the Delhi Auto Expo in January 2023. Vayve Mobility is a new company based in Pune.

Nilesh Bajaj, who is not related to the Bajaj group, Saurabh Mehta, who is the company’s CTO, Vilas Deshpande, and Ankita Jain started Vavye Mobility in 2019. Bajaj and Mehta both went to IIT Bombay. Deshpande, the COO, used to work for P&G. Jain is an expert in project management.

Bajaj said it would take about a year for the Automotive Research Association of India to approve the car (ARAI). In the first three months of 2024, $20 million would be spent to make about 200 cars. They will be used in Pune and Bengaluru for about six months to get data about how well they work. By 2026, the company wants to make 10,000 cars every month. Bajaj said that to do this, $200 million would have to be spent.

What is micro-mobility?

Micro-mobility, which includes two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles, and entry-level cars, seems to be the trend in e-mobility. This is where mini mobility comes in. Most of the time, these cars weigh less than 500 kg and can go up to 90 kmph.

The McKinsey Center for Future Mobility polled 26,000 people in eight countries, except India, in September to find out what they thought about mini mobility. Most of the people who answered, 90% of whom lived in cities, said they would choose mini mobility. A lot of them already had cars and would like to use mini mobility to get to and from work.

Ozone Motors, which is based in Chennai, also wants to make an electric two-seater called a quadricycle.
