Engine and transmission

Volkswagen Virtus come with 115PS/178Nm and 150PS/250Nm 1.5L TSI turbo petrol engines, respectively. The 1-litre and 1.5-litre engines will be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, and a 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, respectively.

The 1.5-litre, 121PS petrol engine in the refreshed City is teamed with a six-speed manual and an optional CVT transmission. It comes with a 1.5-litre powerful hybrid engine with 126 Hp and an e-CVT transmission. Due to a lack of interest and impending stricter pollution standards, the 100PS 1.5-litre diesel engine has been dropped. The modified powertrains will meet the future, strict RDE emission standards.

Features

The Volkswagen Virtus includes a variety of advanced features and comforts, including single-pane sunroofs, ambient lighting, cruise control, heated front seats, ventilated front seats, and an 8-inch digital driver’s display. Also, a wireless 10-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be included, along with an eight-speaker audio system. The Virtus will have six airbags, ESC, a tyre pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat fixings as standard safety features.

The updated City comes equipped with all of the same features as the outgoing sedan, which included a sunroof, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay (now wireless), and linked vehicle technologies. Along with the addition of ADAS technologies, which were previously exclusive to the Hybrid model, the sedan now comes with features like wireless phone charging and rain-sensing wipers. Electronic stability control, several airbags, ABS with EBD, and rearview cameras are further safety features.

Price in India

Virtus pricing begins at 11.31 lakh rupees. Whereas, City prices begin at 11.49 lakh rupees.
