Suzuki Motorcycle India has launched the Suzuki Access 125 with single-channel ABS, making it one of the most affordable scooters in India to offer ABS. Priced from Rs 92,328 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the update marks a significant step towards improved rider safety in the mass-market 125cc scooter segment.

With this launch, the Suzuki Access becomes the first mass-market 125cc scooter in India to feature ABS, a safety feature previously limited to larger and more premium scooters.

Suzuki Access 125 with ABS: What’s New?

The key highlight of the update is the addition of single-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), which is available exclusively on the top two variantsRide Connect ABS and Ride Connect TFT ABS.

Until now, ABS has largely been seen on 150cc-plus scooters such as the Yamaha Aerox 155, TVS Ntorq 150, Aprilia SR 175, and Hero Xoom 160, where it is mandated by regulation. Suzuki’s decision to introduce ABS on a smaller and more affordable scooter is a voluntary move, aimed at enhancing rider safety.

Variants and Pricing

The Suzuki Access 125 with ABS is available in the following trims:

  • Ride Connect ABS – Rs 92,328 (ex-showroom)
  • Ride Connect TFT ABS – Rs 98,378 (ex-showroom)

These variants command a premium of Rs 3,601 and Rs 4,501, respectively, over their non-ABS counterparts. Despite the price hike, the Access continues to remain among the most affordable ABS-equipped scooters in the Indian market.

No Mechanical Changes

Mechanically, the Suzuki Access 125 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 124cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that delivers 8.4hp of power and 10.2Nm of torque. The engine is known for its refinement, fuel efficiency, and reliability, which have contributed to the scooter’s strong sales performance over the years.

Segment Impact

The Suzuki Access is one of India’s best-selling 125cc scooters and Suzuki’s highest-volume product. The addition of ABS strengthens its appeal, especially for safety-conscious urban riders. Industry experts believe this move could prompt other manufacturers to introduce ABS in smaller-capacity scooters as well.

Safety Gets a Boost in the 125cc Segment

With the introduction of single-channel ABS, Suzuki has raised the safety benchmark in the 125cc scooter category. The update reinforces the Access 125’s position as a well-rounded family scooter offering comfort, practicality, reliability, and now enhanced braking safety.
