The Grand Vitara Sigma model now costs Rs 19,000 more than the Swift, with the automaker raising prices by up to Rs 25,000.

The Grand Vitara and Swift models, two of Maruti Suzuki’s best-selling vehicles, now have higher prices. According to reports, the business raised the price of the hatchback by Rs 25,000, and the Sigma model of the mid-size SUV experienced an increase in price of Rs 19,000.

The firm announced a 0.45 per cent price boost in January 2024, making the entire range more expensive than ever in India. This new price increase came months after that announcement. After that, it was told that the actions were conducted because of rising commodity costs and inflation-related cost pressure.

What did the company say?

Maruti Suzuki said, “We have endeavored to absorb the escalating input costs over a period. However, prevailing market conditions necessitate us to transfer a portion of these hikes to our esteemed customers. Certain models will experience substantial price increments.”
