Renault 5 EV: In recent years, French automaker Renault has been pushing the envelope in the field of electric transportation. In the most recent development, before the Renault 5 EV’s formal debut at the Geneva Motor Show on Monday (February 26), pictures of the impending electric hatchback were leaked. The production-ready E-Tech trim, which resembles the 2021 concept model quite a bit, is seen in these photos.

Renault 5 EV design details

In addition to providing a clear view of the interior, the leaked images show the Renault 5 from two distinct perspectives.
The body retains the asymmetrical hood design, squared-off LED DRLs, and squared-off fender flares from the concept. In fact, when the 5 is plugged in, that cover has a display showing the battery level. A black horizontal bar runs the length of the back hatch, and it has rear lights with horizontal LED elements in the main housing. Above the bar, you can see the Renault wordmark and the “5” insignia.

Interior Details

In these pictures, we can also clearly see the interior of the vehicle, complete with a large screen that houses the infotainment system and gauge cluster. The climate vents on the dash include stylistic components that resemble the daytime running lights, and the centre control stack has a pleasant slant towards the driver. The photographs don’t do it justice, but the upholstery almost seems like tweed. It’s probably going to be recycled in one way or another.

Powertrain details

This electric hatchback, which is powered by a 52kWh battery pack and has a 400km stated range according to WLTP, is built on the AmpR Small platform (previously CMF-B-EV). The 3.92 m long vehicle is propelled by a single 135 hp electric motor, which can be charged via the front left quarter panel.
