Renault Duster making a comeback with a new stylish and robust variant, all you need to know

Renault Duster: In the upcoming weeks, the Renault-Nissan Alliance plans to unveil the details of its upcoming investment in India. According to a recent source, the Alliance is planning to announce an investment of around US $500 million (Rs 4,000 crore). The Alliance partners will launch the CMF-B platform in India with the help of this investment. The next-generation Renault Duster will be among the new cars from both manufacturers that will be developed using this platform.

Details of the all-new Renault Duster

Renault had stopped selling the Duster model in the Indian market. In our market, the company was offering the original Duster. On the other hand, Renault-Dacia is already offering the second-generation vehicle in a few South American countries, including Brazil, and in Europe. We already knew that Renault will only release the third-generation Duster in our market, skipping the second-generation model.

For the Indian market, the new CMF-B platform will undergo extensive localization. The Bigster concept SUV, a three-row Renault SUV, will also be available on the platform. Given that the CMF-B has an electric variant dubbed the CMF-B EV, this architecture will also assist the alliance in domestically producing electric vehicles.

Products based on the CMF-B platform won’t be available in our market until 2024–2025 because it will take time to localise the new platform. The Renault Arkana coupe crossover is undergoing testing there. In 2023, this product could be introduced to our market. As an electric variant of the Megane hatchback, the business might also release the Megane e-tech. On the other hand, Nissan Motor India has already stated that it is looking into CBU imports of the SUVs X-Trail, Qashqai, and Juke for the Indian market. In our market, the X-Trail is anticipated to debut first.
