Drawing the line between reality and AI-driven reality is becoming increasingly impossible daily. Google launched its all-new Veo 3 AI model, and the internet gets mused by the ultra-realistic AI-generated news broadcasting videos that it can make.
While people praise the work and innovation, they are excited by the new stuff that the new Google Veo 3 can offer. The other part of the internet is truly concerning, considering how it can be used to spread fake news and misinformation in this increasingly vulnerable world of politics.
Google announced its Veo 3 AI video generative model on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. With its very launch, it offers a sharp difference from OpenAI’s Sora video generator, letting you generate text-to-video and audio-to-video outputs.
You can prompt the model using your writing skills or your voice, and it will generate extremely realistic AI-generated videos just as you want.
Everything was going all technical until the Google Veo 3 model made fake anchor videos go viral on social media. As creators across the globe are trying their hands with this new AI model, super realistic footage of anchors stating absurd news in a serious tone is getting viral, leaving everyone stunned, laughing, yet concerned by the capacity of the Google Veo 3.
While everything seems funny right now, everyone can perceive the threat of spreading the dilemma between reality and AI fiction.
General population is cooked 😭

You can literally create news clips with Veo-3 now , what’s even real anymore? pic.twitter.com/XfpFnIi8E2
The user, Ashutosh Shrivastava, who created the viral AI news anchor clip, posted it on his X handle with the concerning caption, “General population is cooked. You can lreate news clips with Veo-3 now, what’s even real anymore?”.
This raises the question: Which profession is safe from AI replacement after all? Could AI even replace traditional news anchors? Well, it can happen or even is happening on a small scale. Your only relief is that it still follows your prompts, lacking its editorial judgments regarding truth and accountability.
The Google Veo 3 is a product of Google DeepMind that creates videos from text, images, and audio prompts. With perfect human facial expressions, it can accurately mimic and simulate soundscapes and natural dialogues.
Such rapid shifts and turns in AI are pushing us to include AI at the elementary level of education. Experts suggest teaching students to differentiate real content from AI content, verify sources before believing, and critically evaluate all digital content.
Undoubtedly, a new spectrum has opened up with Google Veo 3's hands, but there is a concern about whether this will not become another Pandora’s box. While avoiding it is impossible anymore, sincere use and an analytical mind can only save you.
