iPhone 14: Start saving for Apple’s 2022 lineup now, the iPhone 14 is on its way

iPhone 14: Apple releases new iPhone models every year that are appealing to both casual users and enthusiasts. It won’t be any different this year either. Apple will once again unveil a new iPhone during a high-profile event in September, this time in the form of the iPhone 14. While several features of the new iPhone 14 series will be kept a secret until its official release, multiple leaks have already given us a preview of what to expect. Continue reading to get a quick overview of what we currently know about the new series and its interesting features.

According to several rumours, Apple will likely release four new iPhone models for 2022 in a similar fashion to the previous year’s lineup, with the exception of a 5.4-inch “small” model that will be replaced with a 6.7-inch “Max” model. As a result, two new “Pro” iPhone models with displays measuring 6.7 inches and 6.1 inches will be released alongside the conventional iPhone 14 (6.1 inches) and iPhone 14 Max (6.7 inches) versions.

The iPhone will resemble its processor in most ways. In light of this, anticipate the top-tier “Pro” models will retain the current Face ID notch while the standard iPhone and iPhone 14 Max will adopt a pill-shaped hole-punch design for their front-facing camera.

It is becoming more and more obvious that Apple may be considering a smaller hole-punch camera as a design element to set the more expensive iPhone 14 Pro lineup apart from the regular models.

Only the Pro versions will receive Apple’s new A16 processor for the first time; the standard models will either feature the A15 (the same processor that powers the iPhone 13) or a different version of it. The iPhone will still be powerful even with the A15 chip. We predict that the 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage choices for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will be available. The Pro variants will come standard with 128GB of storage, with the option to upgrade to 256GB and 512GB. All versions will probably see a significant battery improvement as well.

There are numerous rumours about price increases for the iPhone due to rising manufacturing costs and inflation. In fact, despite having plenty of cash on hand, Apple is apparently facing pressure to pass the increased cost onto customers. According to our estimates, the phone will start at $899 (about Rs 71,776), while the iPhone 14 Max would cost $999. (or approx Rs 79,665). The base model of the iPhone 14 Pro will cost $1099 (or roughly Rs 87,640), and the iPhone 14 Pro Max may start at $1199. (or approx Rs 95,706). Remember that these costs do not account for local taxes, thus the retail cost of the iPhone series may be considerably more.

Without a doubt, the series will be speedier and more advanced than the previous models. However, not all of the rumoured features will be included in the phone and will instead be kept for a 2023 model. For example, we don’t anticipate the iPhone to have a USB-C port in place of the Lightning port or an in-display fingerprint scanner.
