Yamaha Neo EV Scooter: Due to the skyrocketing prices of gasoline, the Indian two-wheeler market has seen a spike in EVs. A variety of electric bikes and scooters are about to be released by the major two-wheeler manufacturers, including Hero, Honda, TVS, and Bajaj, in an effort to capture market share. With the new Neo e-scooter, which is already being sold in a few international countries, Yamaha Motor India will also jump on the EV bandwagon. In an interview with an online media outlet, Eishin Chihana, the Yamaha India Chariman, disclosed that the company is now testing an electric scooter platform for India for extensive durability.

The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer will initially import the Yamaha Neo electric scooter into the nation, despite the lengthy thermal management testing process. The vehicle’s battery pack and electric engine will be modified to accommodate the driving conditions in India. The business will also leverage regional suppliers to obtain competitive pricing. Yamaha previously reaffirmed that by 2025, its new electric scooters would begin to arrive in India.
Battery and Range
The hub motor of the Yamaha Neo, which is comparable to a 50cc scooter, produces power of about 2kW. The batteries on the e-scooter can be changed. According to the manufacturer, the Neo has a 68 km range. LED illumination, a completely digital LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity, smart key integration, and telescopic front and monoshock rear suspension are all included in its equipment. Under the seat of the Yamaha electric scooter is a 27-litre storage compartment.
Other updates from Yamaha
In other news, the Japanese manufacturer of two-wheelers intends to reintroduce the venerable Yamaha RX100 motorcycle with a contemporary look and a larger displacement engine. The new RX100 “should be an impactful package with powerful engine and design,” according to the firm. Although there are few information at this time, the bike is probably going to have the 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the Yamaha R15 V4. After 2026, the brand-new Yamaha RX100 is likely to be introduced in India.
