A new reality show is set to hit Indian screens soon, and it already has the internet buzzing. Entrepreneur and Shark Tank India fame Ashneer Grover will host MX Player’s upcoming reality series Rise and Fall. According to reports, choreographer and YouTuber Dhanashree Verma has been roped in as one of the 16 contestants on the show.
Dhanashree Verma In Ashneer Grover’s Rise And Fall?
The speculation started after Instagram channel Entertainment AF shared a post claiming, “While Ashneer Grover is set to host MX Player’s brand-new show Rise and Fall, we’ve got the exclusive tea – Dhanashree Verma, ex-wife of cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, is one of the 16 contestants!”
Though there has been no official confirmation yet, the buzz has already created curiosity among fans. Grover himself teased that the show will feature 16 known personalities who will live together under one roof for 42 days.
While comparisons with Bigg Boss are inevitable, Rise and Fall brings its own twist. The show will split contestants into two groups – the powerful ones living in luxury “on top” and those less privileged staying “at the bottom.” The idea is to showcase the struggles between privilege and survival while highlighting how the tables can turn at any point.
In the teaser, Grover set the tone with his boldness, promising a format packed with drama, strategy, and unexpected turns.
About Dhanashree Verma?
Dhanashree Verma is a well-known choreographer, dancer, and dentist by qualification. She gained popularity through her dance videos on YouTube and later went on to participate in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. She married Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal in December 2020, but the couple headed for divorce in 2025.
On March 20 this year, Chahal’s lawyer Nitin Kumar Gupta confirmed to ANI, “The court has granted the decree of divorce, and both parties are no longer husband and wife.” The couple had been living separately for nearly 18 months before the final decision.
Why The Split?
The exact reason for their separation was never shared publicly. However, journalist Vickey Lalwani reported that a disagreement over residence played a key role. After their wedding, the couple initially stayed with Chahal’s parents in Haryana. But within days, Dhanashree expressed her wish to move to Mumbai, which allegedly created friction.
Dating Rumours After Divorce
Following the separation, both Chahal and Dhanashree have been linked to new partners. While Chahal was rumoured to be close to RJ Mahvash, Dhanashree was spotted celebrating New Year with choreographer Pratik Utekar. A cosy photo of the two had gone viral online, sparking dating rumours. However, Utekar dismissed the speculation and criticised those spreading gossip.
