John Ternus: Tim Cook Replaced By Longtime Veteran! Would September 1 Mark A New Chapter In Apple’s Glorious Journey?

John Ternus: Tim Cook would continue to work as the executive chair of Apple’s board of directors. The 50-year-old Ternus who is presently the senior-vice president of hardware engineering, will replace Cook as the CEO.

John Ternus: Apple Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook has announced that he would step down from his role from September 1, 2026 after staying almost 15 years at the helm. Cook would be replaced by John Ternus, the head of hardware engineering.

Tim Cook played a major role in the evolution of Apple as a multinational company. He took the realms from Steve Jobs, the Apple co-founder in 2011, after Steve was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and later died.

Many in Apple believed that replicating Steve Jobs was no easy task but Tim Cook took legacy of Steve Jobs and transformed the company into a resilient, durable financial powerhouse with explosive market-cap growth.

Under the leadership of Cook, Apple stayed untouchable by its competitors and saw the company witnessing remarkable growth in terms of AirPods headphones, Apple Watch, Apple Pay, Apple TV, iPhone, iPad and Mac computer lines. Apple also became the first publicly-traded company to reach a staggering valuation of $1 trillion and now $4 trillion.

Cook claimed that Ternus was the ideal individual for the job given his amazing experience at Cupertino. Cook also remarked that John Ternus is a brilliant engineer and someone who has spent the 25 years of his professional career building the Apple products.

In 1997, Ternus completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a major in mechanical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In 2001, he joined Apple as a product design team member and went on to become vice president of hardware engineering in 2013.
