2022 Honda RSX 150cc unveiled, to rival Yamaha Aerox 155; all details here

Honda RSX 150cc: Two-wheelers with an underbone design are very common in Malaysia and other south-east Asian markets. They can have a basic-looking moped or something much more sporty, like the Honda RSX. The 2022 RSX has been introduced in Malaysia with an RM 8,688 starting price. This is almost 1.55 lakh Indian rupees.

Honda RSX 150cc Design and Features

The Honda RSX combines the comfort and convenience of a scooter with the stylish aesthetics of a motorbike. The motorcycle’s muscular twin LED headlights and stylish LED DRLs give it a pointed snout. Particularly when viewed from the front, it appears powerful and imposing. A central air inlet on the handlebar cowl contributes to the bike’s athletic appearance.

Stylish rearview mirrors, modern turn signals, a blacked-out engine, an ergonomic seat, split grab rails, and an upswept exhaust are a few further standout characteristics. The speedometer on the Honda RSX is fully computerised and shows a variety of data, including gear selection, fuel level, rpm, etc. The bike has foot pegs that are positioned in the middle for a comfortable riding position.

Trico Edition, which essentially combines red, blue, and black, is one of the available colour options. Lemon Ice Yellow uses yellow and black whereas Candy Carribean Blue Sea uses blue against black. The front fenders are body colour for all three colour choices. The bike would have looked and felt even better with coloured wheels, but those are not currently available. The usual black paint is used to cover the wheels.

Specifications

Powering A 149.2 cc, liquid-cooled, PGM-FI, DOHC motor powers the Honda RSX. It can produce 13.6 Nm of maximum torque at 7,000 rpm and 15.8 hp of maximum power at 9,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with numerous wet clutches is connected to it. The bicycle has a twin tube frame, telescoping front forks, and monoshock rear suspension with preload adjustment. It is equipped with 90/80 front and 120/70 rear tubeless tyres on 17-inch alloy wheels at each end. There are disc brakes on each wheel, and single-channel ABS is available as standard. The bike weighs 122 kilogrammes at the curb. The fuel tank’s 4.5-litre volume is quite little.

Launch in India

Honda RSX likely won’t be introduced in India. Mopeds, which consistently have great sales, are the closest fit in this instance. They rank among the most cost-effective two-wheeler solutions in the nation. Mopeds can carry a sizable amount of weight and are fuel-efficient.

Products like the RSX won’t live up to expectations in terms of cost, fuel economy, or local fashion preferences. The majority of users in the nation would favour performance-focused bikes in the Rs 1.50 lakh pricing band. For scooter enthusiasts, there are items like the Aprilia SXR-160 and the freshly released Yamaha Aerox. Underbone two-wheelers, like the Honda RSX, are a completely different breed, and they are only viable in a few regions.
