Bhagwant Mann: Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Says Youth Energy Driving ‘Nasha Mukt’ Push in Punjab

“Youth is not just about age but about passion and purpose. If given the right direction, it can transform society,” the party stated.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab has said that the state’s youth power, when guided in the right direction, can achieve the impossible. Highlighting its ongoing anti-drug campaign, the party credited Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for steering young people away from substance abuse and towards positive social engagement.

In a statement, the party alleged that previous Akali and Congress governments allowed drug abuse to take root among sections of the youth. It claimed that the current administration’s focused efforts under the #YudhNasheVirudh campaign are helping reclaim the state’s younger generation from addiction.

AAP leaders said visible changes are being witnessed, with young people increasingly participating in cultural programmes, sports activities, and awareness drives. “Youth is not just about age but about passion and purpose. If given the right direction, it can transform society,” the party stated.

The campaign slogan “Nasha Mukt Punjab” has been amplified through public meetings, village-level outreach, and youth-led events aimed at spreading awareness about the dangers of drugs. Party representatives maintained that strict enforcement against traffickers, combined with rehabilitation initiatives, is central to the strategy.

AAP further said that the “Youth’s Warning” message — that drugs will not be allowed to survive in Punjab — reflects a broader social awakening, with young citizens taking ownership of the movement to safeguard their future and the state’s progress.

Party leaders added that youth clubs, educational institutions and community organisations are being actively involved in spreading awareness about the harmful impact of drugs. Sports tournaments, cultural festivals and motivational seminars are being organised at the village and district levels to channel young energy into constructive activities.

According to AAP representatives, the government’s approach combines strict law enforcement with rehabilitation and counselling support. Special focus is being placed on skill development programmes and employment initiatives so that young people have meaningful opportunities and do not fall prey to substance abuse.

The party also emphasised the importance of parental and community participation in the anti-drug movement. By encouraging families and local bodies to remain vigilant and supportive, the campaign aims to create a social environment where addiction is discouraged and recovery is supported.
