Bhagwant Mann continued its statewide anti-drug drive under the ongoing Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign, arresting 109 alleged drug smugglers during raids conducted across multiple locations in the state. The operation forms part of the government’s sustained efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb the spread of narcotics in Punjab.

During the action, police teams recovered 356 grams of heroin, 11 kilograms of poppy husk, 713 intoxicant pills and capsules, and ₹19,470 in suspected drug money. The recoveries were made during coordinated operations led by officers of SP and DSP rank along with local police personnel.

According to officials, extensive checking drives were carried out across Punjab, with police teams stopping and screening suspicious individuals as part of intensified enforcement measures. The operations were aimed at identifying drug traffickers, disrupting supply chains, and preventing the circulation of narcotic substances.
In addition to enforcement action, Punjab Police continued its rehabilitation-focused approach by counselling 10 individuals affected by substance abuse and encouraging them to undergo de-addiction treatment. Authorities emphasized that combating the drug menace requires both strict legal action against traffickers and support for individuals seeking recovery from addiction.
Punjab Police stated that the Yudh Nashian Virudh campaign remains a key component of the state’s strategy to create a drug-free society. The force reiterated its commitment to sustained operations against narcotics networks while promoting awareness, rehabilitation, and community participation in the fight against drug abuse.
