Former Delhi BJP president and second term MP from Delhi’s North East Manoj Tiwari has tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday. He does not have any symptoms and has isolated himself at his Delhi home.
The former president of BJP took to Twitter to urge all those who had come in contact with him over the past couple of days to get tested for the virus.
The actor-turned politician stated that he had been suffering from a low-grade fever for two to three days before getting tested on Thursday, while adding that he is in contact with a doctor.
“An earlier Covid test conducted on April 19 had returned negative. Manoj Tiwari was supposed to travel to West Bengal for campaigning in the morning, but he got himself tested for Covid again on Wednesday evening after having body ache and irritation in throat. This report has returned positive,” said Neelkant Bakshi, former head of BJP media relations in Delhi.
Delhi reported 26,169 fresh Covid-19 cases and 306 deaths in 24 hours on Thursday. There are currently 90,000 active cases in the city.
