Travelling on a flight is quite safe, comfortable and pleasurable. For passengers’ safety, there are certain airport rules that they need to follow. Violations of these rules may result in the confiscation of the items, fine, or even imprisonment. When it comes to carrying items while travelling on a flight in India, some items are prohibited as they can be risky on a flight. 

What Items You Must Avoid While Travelling on a Flight?

While travelling on a flight, you need to stay and let your companions do the same. The items that you must avoid on a flight include the following:

Flammable Items and Lighters

Flammable items, such as firecrackers, aerosol sprays, fuels, and other combustible substances are strictly prohibited to be carried in handbags. They may cause fire hazards and are risky goods. In the same way, you must not carry lighter, as it can ignite fire. 

Weapons 

Any kind of weapon, such as pepper spray, stun guns, firearms, or even toy guns are strictly prohibited to be carried in handbags. In addition, even the items that are apart of costume or are non-functional, are also not allowed. These items are considered to pose a threat to the public place. If you carry these items, you may face legal action.   

Power Banks Over Permissible Limit 

Power banks over the permissible limit—100 Watt—are not allowed to be carried on a flight. So, when set out to board a flight, check your device’s specifications before packing it. Remember that power banks are prohibited to be carried in checked baggage, but you can carry them in your hand luggage if they are within the permissible limit. 

Liquids Exceeding 100 ml

When it comes to carrying liquids, any liquid whether water, perfume, oil, shampoo, lotion, or sanitizer, exceeding 100 ml, is prohibited to be carried in a handbag. In addition, you should place all liquid items in a reseable, transparent and single plastic bag, not exceeding 1 liter in capacity. This rule is applicable to ensure security and allow passengers to carry their essential in small amounts.

Sharp Objects

Sharp objects are strictly prohibited to be carried in handbag. These objects include screwdrivers, nail cutters, razor blades, scissors, and knives. If you carry these objects, security personnel will confiscate them during security checks.

The items that are prohibited to be carried on a domestic flight are also prohibited to be carried on an international flight. And they include liquid over 100 ml, sharp objects, hazardous materials, firearms and weapons.
