Budget 2023: Tourism sector will be promoted on mission mode

Union Budget 2023 To Promote Tourism: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the general budget for the financial year 2023-24 on February 1. Several announcements were made in this budget in the fields of health, agriculture and infrastructure. At the same time, schemes were announced in the Modi government’s budget to promote tourism. On India’s tourism, the Finance Minister said that the government is going to work in mission mode regarding tourism. There is immense potential for employment in the tourism sector.

In this area especially the youth will get huge job and entrepreneurship opportunities. He announced that the government has selected 50 destinations to promote tourism. Government help will be given to these selected places. Apart from this, while presenting the budget, Nirmala Sitharaman also mentioned the Swadesh Darshan scheme and the Dekho Apna Bharat scheme. Swadesh Darshan scheme is planned to be setup for border and village tourism.

Know what announcements were made in Budget 2023 to promote the tourism sector

Finance Minister’s announcement on tourism sector

50 tourist places will be identified.

These tourist places will be developed.

These selected tourist destinations will be developed as a complete package for domestic and international tourism.

Tourism will be promoted under the Swadesh Darshan scheme.

Preparations are on to open Unity Mall in the state capitals.

The aim is to promote one district, one product and handicraft products under these unity malls.

Employment opportunities will be given to the youth in the field of tourism.

What is Swadesh Darshan Scheme?

Projects worth crores will be brought for tourism development under the ambitious Swadesh Darshan of the Central Government. Through this scheme, attention will be paid to essential things like transport, economic condition, employment and food at all the pilgrimage sites of India. Under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, places with tourism potential will be developed in a planned manner and with priority. Along with this, there will be a plan to promote economic development and generate employment in that area.

Which tourist places to promote

The circuits currently identified in the Swadesh Darshan scheme include Buddhist pilgrimage sites, Krishna pilgrimage sites at 12 destinations in 5 states, Ramayana circuit i.e. tourist places related to Lord Ram, tourist places maintaining ancient Sufi tradition, Jain pilgrimages. Sthala, the spiritual circuit comprising the seven kingdoms will be developed in terms of tourism.

Apart from this, potential tourist destinations of North East Circuit, Eco Circuit, Tribal Circuit, Heritage Circuit, Wild Life Circuit will be promoted for tourism by providing better facilities.
