Users across the globe reported that X was down several times throughout the day. Now, Elon Musk, the CTO of X, has confirmed the reason behind these disruptions. X Outage Peaks, DownDetector Reports Surge in Complaints

As X remained down, thousands of users flooded DownDetector, a platform that tracks online service outages. The outage reportedly peaked around 15:00 hours, with complaints rising sharply as frustrated users struggled to access their accounts.

During the downtime, X users were unable to post tweets, view content, or even open pages on the platform. The issue was widespread, sparking speculation about whether the outage was part of a deliberate cyberattack or a technical failure.

Big Changes on Elon Musk’s X: Price Hikes, Cyberattack & Security Concerns

Since Elon Musk acquired X (formerly Twitter) in October 2022 for $44 billion, the platform has seen significant changes. Unlike its competitors Facebook and Instagram, X has rarely gone down since the acquisition. However, this latest cyberattack on X raises serious questions about the platform\’s security and resilience.

Recently, Musk increased the prices of X’s Premium+ subscription service by 35%, impacting users in India and global markets.
