If you are a daily user of X (formerly Twitter), you must have noticed that the platform suffered multiple outages on March 10, 2025. Users across the globe reported that X was down several times throughout the day. Now, Elon Musk, the CTO of X, has confirmed the reason behind these disruptions. X Faces Major Global Outage: Millions Affected
On March 10, 2025, the X platform went down in what appeared to be a widespread outage. Users were unable to access the micro-blogging site, with many taking to other platforms like Facebook and Instagram to report the issue.
Popular X user DogeDesigner pointed out the pattern, posting, “First, protests against DOGE. Then, Tesla stores were attacked. Now, 𝕏 is down. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that this downtime is the result of an attack on 𝕏.”

X Outage Peaks, DownDetector Reports Surge in Complaints
As X remained down, thousands of users flooded DownDetector, a platform that tracks online service outages. The outage reportedly peaked around 15:00 hours, with complaints rising sharply as frustrated users struggled to access their accounts.
During the downtime, X users were unable to post tweets, view content, or even open pages on the platform. The issue was widespread, sparking speculation about whether the outage was part of a deliberate cyberattack or a technical failure.
Big Changes on Elon Musk’s X: Price Hikes, Cyberattack & Security Concerns
Since Elon Musk acquired X (formerly Twitter) in October 2022 for $44 billion, the platform has seen significant changes. Unlike its competitors Facebook and Instagram, X has rarely gone down since the acquisition. However, this latest cyberattack on X raises serious questions about the platform's security and resilience.
Recently, Musk increased the prices of X’s Premium+ subscription service by 35%, impacting users in India and global markets.
