Delhi Liquor Shops: Liquor shops will be opening in the capital of Delhi under the old liquor policy. After August 31, not a single private shop in the capital will open in Delhi. In view of this, the government has strengthened the exercise of opening a liquor shop under the old liquor policy.
On Thursday, a committee set up by the government submitted a report to the government. In this report, it has been decided to open 500 government shops by September 1.

The four corporations of the government will do these arrangements together. The decision to open liquor shops has been taken in view of the shortage of liquor and law and order.
Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC), Delhi State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), Delhi Consumer Cooperative Wholesale Store (DCCWS) and Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation (DSCSC) will set up these shops by the end of this month
200 liquor shops will be opened by December 31, 2022
The committee’s report said that 200 more liquor shops will be opened by December 31. And, a total of 700 liquor shops are to be opened this year. All the corporations in these shops will also start 5 premium shops to sell expensive and branded liquor. Two of these shops will be opened this month. And the remaining liquor shops will be opened by December 31.

Corporations will run the shop in these zones
DTTDC will run its shops in Zones 1-9, DSIIDC 10-18, DCCWS 19-24 and DSCSC 25-30. The DTTDC will also open liquor shops at the airport. And, DSIIDC will handle the shops in the areas under Delhi Cantonment and New Delhi Municipal Council.
As per the reports, by the end of this month, 150-150 liquor shops will be opened. However, DCCWS and DSCSC will open 100-100 shops. By December, DTTDC and DSIIDC will open 60-60 liquor shops, while DCCWS and DSCSC will open 40-40 shops. The Delhi government quit the retail business of liquor on November 17, 2021, after the implementation of the Excise Policy 2021-22.
