Music festivals and live concerts have become a massive part of India's entertainment culture, with international artists adding to the excitement. However, a recent Bryan Adams concert held in Mumbai on December 13 quickly turned from an electrifying experience to a nightmare for some fans. One such fan, Sheldon Aranjo, a diabetic media professional, shared his experience on LinkedIn, which soon went viral, highlighting a serious issue with event management. He took to the platform to criticise both the event organisers and Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal over the lack of basic facilities
The Incident That Sparked the Outrage
Sheldon Aranjo, a diabetic media professional, shared an emotional LinkedIn post about his distressing experience at the concert. As a diabetic, Sheldon has continence issues, meaning that managing his bladder can be a challenge in stressful situations. He detailed his ordeal, where the lack of sufficient washroom facilities led to a highly uncomfortable situation. With just three toilets for every 1,000 attendees, the arrangements were woefully inadequate.

In his viral post, Sheldon shared how he desperately tried to find a restroom, only to encounter long queues and confusing signs. "I had to hold on to dear life," Sheldon said, describing his journey across the venue, dodging security guards, and eventually resorting to using a tree. Unfortunately, the frustration did not end there—he soiled his pants before he could finally relieve himself. His candid post made a clear point: the poor event management, particularly the inadequate washroom facilities, had ruined his experience.
Sheldon Aranjo Calls Out Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal and Event Organisers
In his post, Sheldon directed his frustration at both Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, and the event organisers, EVA Global Events. He expressed disappointment in the overall management, emphasising that such events should provide basic necessities like adequate restroom facilities. Sheldon noted that, as a diabetic, his situation was especially dire, but the lack of proper facilities affected many others. From long queues at the food stalls to issues with the event's cash-loading system, Sheldon’s experience was far from pleasant.
Sheldon’s message to Deepinder Goyal and the event organisers was direct: “Get your sh*t together.” In the post, he sarcastically questioned if EVA Global Events was new to organising such large-scale concerts, calling the management “amateur” and highlighting the essential role of proper planning for such high-profile events.
