Gold Rate Today: Prices continue to slip; Check out current rates in your city here

In India, the price of gold is currently Rs 5,515 for 22k gold and Rs 6,016 for 24k gold, also referred to as 999 gold.

Prices of gold and silver on MCX

The price of the 10-gram gold futures contract that expires on October 5, 2023 on the MCX decreased by 0.25 percent to Rs 59243. Silver futures with a December 5, 2023, expiration date are now priced at Rs. 73489 for delivery on September 5, 2023, which is a decrease of 1.38% from their previous price. Carats, with 24 being the purest, are used to measure the purity of gold. 24K gold is elastic and liquid and needs to be alloyed with other metals to make it stronger. For instance, 22 parts gold and 2 parts other metals make up 91.6 percent of 22k gold. Gold’s price is influenced by its purity.

Imports of gold in India

At one point, if you were entering the country from overseas, the only thing you loved to bring with you was gold. Getting gold into the country is not as exciting these days. In the event that you decide to purchase the precious metal, there are a few things you should bear in mind. You are not allowed to import any gold worth more than Rs 50,000 if you are a male traveller. However, female passengers can purchase gold worth up to around Rs 1 lakh.
