Petrol And Diesel Price Update: The country is set to have general elections next year. Before the elections, the government can make changes to the prices of petrol and diesel. The oil companies have updated the prices for petrol and diesel for December 12. As of today, the prices of petrol and diesel are the same, and there has been no change.
The government-owned oil companies have not made any changes to the prices of petrol and diesel. However, some states, including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, and others, had announced an increase in VAT. Following this, there has been a slight change in the prices of petrol and diesel in these states. It is important to mention that there has been no official change in the fuel prices by the central government.
In all major cities of the country, the prices of petrol and diesel are as follows:
- In Delhi, the price of petrol is ₹96.72 per liter, and diesel is ₹89.62 per liter.
- In Mumbai, the price of petrol is ₹106.31 per liter, and diesel is ₹94.27 per liter.
- In Chennai, the price of petrol is ₹102.63 per liter, and diesel is ₹94.24 per liter.
- In Kolkata, the price of petrol is ₹106.03 per liter, and diesel is ₹92.76 per liter.
Now, let’s look at the prices in different states:
Today, petrol and diesel have become expensive in many states. In Maharashtra, the price of petrol has increased by 26 paise, and it is now ₹106.58 per liter. The diesel prices have risen by 35 paise, making it ₹92.84 per liter. In Bihar, petrol has increased by 35 paise, reaching ₹109.23 per liter, while diesel has increased by 34 paise, now selling at ₹95.88 per liter.
How To Check Petrol and Diesel Prices Update:
To check fuel prices in your city through SMS, state governments apply Value Added Tax (VAT) based on their calculations, resulting in varying fuel prices. Indian Oil (IOCL) customers can send an SMS with the RSP code to 9224992249 to get daily petrol and diesel prices.
