Sensex fell by nearly 2,000 points

After seeing tremendous selling in the last week, the domestic stock markets are seeing a decline this week as well. The Sensex fell by nearly 2,000 points in the last hour before the market closed. Till around 2.15 pm, it was seeing a decline of more than 1,977 points. After the opening today, both the benchmarks are seeing a steady decline in the initial trade. The BSE Sensex has fallen by 1,450 points from morning to 1.30 pm. At 1.33 in the afternoon, the Sensex was trading at a level of 57,584.45, down 1,452.73 points or 2.46%. At the same time, Nifty has reached 17,162.45 after sliding 454.70 points or 2.58% during this period.

By 12 noon, the BSE Sensex had fallen by 1,000 points. At the same time, by reaching 12.30, it had fallen by more than 1,100 points. Nifty was also seeing a fall of more than 450 points due to fall in IT and metal stocks.

If we talk about the opening, then today both the benchmarks opened with a fall amid weak global cues. At 09:16 am, the Sensex opened at 58,855.67 points, down 181.51 points or 0.31%. At the same time, Nifty was down by 61.70 points or 0.35% at the level of 17,555.50. The results of many companies are to come. Today we have an eye on the results of Reliance Industries and ICICI Bank.

After the market opened, 18 stocks were falling on the Sensex index based on 30 shares of Bombay Stock Exchange. The biggest fall came in the shares of Asian Paints, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy and HCL Tech. While, Maruti, Reliance, Bharti Airtel and ICICI Bank were on the rise.

JSW Steel, Asian Paints, Hindalco, SBI Life Insurance and HCL Tech declined on Nifty. On the other hand, ONGC, Maruti Suzuki, HUL, Power Grid and SBI remained on the edge.

In Asian markets, there was a decline in the markets of Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo, while there was a rise in Shanghai. Meanwhile, international oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.92 percent to $ 88.70 per barrel.

On Friday, the Sensex and Nifty fell for the fourth consecutive trading session. The Sensex has come down by 2,271.73 points in four trading sessions. The BSE Sensex closed at 59,037.18, down 427.44 points, or 0.72 percent. Similarly, NSE Nifty closed at 17,617.15, down 139.85 points or 0.79 percent.
