Stock Market Today: With a gain of 28 points, at 22,441, GIFT Nifty on the NSE IX indicated that Dalal Street was off to a good start on Tuesday. Following gloomy equities markets, the rupee fell 8 paise to close at 82.75 against the US dollar on Monday. The US dollar's weakening and the drop in crude oil prices, according to forex specialists, mitigated the negative effects. After a mixed finish on Wall Street, where traders were cautious ahead of new consumer inflation data, Tokyo markets opened lower on Tuesday. In early trading, the benchmark Nikkei 225 index down 1.20 percent, or 466.90 points, to 38,353.59. The Topix index as a whole dropped 1.45 percent, or 38.62 points, to 2,628.21.

In February of last year, it produced 73,380 units, a 26% increase year over year. In addition, sales increased 26.2% to 71,384 units from 56,551 units the previous year. But its shipments fell to 1,539 units, a 31.6% decrease.

ITC

According to sources, British American Tobacco Plc is getting ready to start selling off a portion of its ITC holding as soon as this week. The business has been in discussions with Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc. over the possible block deal divestiture of between $2 billion and $3 billion in ITC.

HIL

For Rs 265 crore, cash and debt free, it will purchase all of Crestia Polytech's shares as well as that of four other companies: Topline Industries, Aditya Polytechnic, Sainath Polymers, and Aditya Industries.
