Stock Market Today: Indian benchmark indices are probably going to have a slow start to the new year. On account of weak global cues, benchmark indices are anticipated to open quietly. On the Singaporean exchange, Nifty futures were trading slightly lower at about 18177.50 levels. The BSE Sensex dropped 293 points to 60841 during the previous session, while the NSE Nifty 50 lost 86 points to 18105.
Asian markets and global cues remain weak in Stock Market Today
Due to the New Year's holiday closure of most Asian markets, global cues remain weak. In the meantime, US stocks fell in the previous day, bringing a harsh 2022 to a halt. The Nasdaq Composite declined 0.11% to 10466.48, the S&P 500 lost 0.25% to 3839.50, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.22% to 33147.25 on Friday. Wall Street’s three main indices booked their first yearly drop since 2018.
Stocks under F&O ban on NSE
The National Stock Exchange's F&O ban list for January 2 does not include any new stocks. Securities from firms where derivative contracts have exceeded the 95% market-wide position limit are among those that are prohibited under the F&O section.

Tata Motors reports 10% increase in total domestic sales
On Sunday, Tata Motors said that overall domestic sales in December 2022 were up 10% to 72997 cars. In the same month last year, the business had sold 66307 cars, according to a statement from Tata Motors.
Sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market increased by 13.4% last month to 40043 units from 35299 units in December 2021.
According to the firm, sales of electric passenger vehicles, including exports, increased by 64.2 percent to 3868 units in December from 2355 units in December 2021.
