Stock Market Today: The S&P BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 are expected to open lower on Thursday, mirroring volatility across global markets after dismal economic data from the United States fuelled fears of a recession and hawkish comments from Fed members dampened investor morale. The Singapore Exchange (SGX) Nifty futures, a leading indicator of the Nifty50 index, were trading 76.5 points, or 0.4%, lower at 18,145.5 at the last count before the opening bell on Dalal Street.
India Inc for domestic cues
Analysts were looking for additional corporate earnings from India Inc for domestic cues, with Asian Paints and Hindustan Unilever set to disclose quarterly results later in the day.

Other Asian markets’ equities started the day in the red, with MSCI’s broadest index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan down 0.7%. The Nikkei 225 in Japan was down 1.1%, the Shanghai Composite in China was down 0.3%, and the Hang Seng in Hong Kong was down 1.2%.

Tokyo stocks open lower after falling in US
Tokyo markets opened down on Thursday after global investors sold Wall Street stocks after the latest retail and wholesale data from the United States indicated a slowing in economic activity. In early trade, the Nikkei 225 index sank 1.10 percent, or 295.86 points, to 26,495.26, while the wider Topix index fell 0.90 percent, or 17.41 points, to 1,917.52.
