On February 22, benchmark indices finished lower for the fourth consecutive session, with the Nifty hovering around 17,550. The Sensex was down 927.74 points, or 1.53%, at 59,744.98, and the Nifty was down 272.40 points, or 1.53%, at 17,554.30 at the close. Approximately 928 shares have advanced, 2451 shares have declined, and 127 shares have remained unchanged.

New Zealand hikes rates to over 14-year highs, flags more to come
On Wednesday, New Zealand’s central bank raised interest rates by 50 basis points to a more than 14-year high of 4.75%, and said it expects to tighten further as inflation remains too high, sending the local currency surging.
The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) said it was too early to assess the policy implications of the recent devastating cyclone and floods in the country’s North Island, and expects to look past the short-term price pressures stemming from the “extreme weather events”.

Peninsula Land has received board approval to issue 1.45 crore equity shares and 1.53 crore warrants convertible into equity shares for Rs 41.72 crore via preferential allotment on a private placement basis at a price of Rs 14 per share and warrant, respectively. This fund raising is subject to shareholder approval next month.
