Dollar slides on European market reopening
Tuesday saw the dollar give back gains made the day before versus the euro and the pound but hold some gains made against the yen as traders’ focus shifted to the U.S. inflation data, which is coming on Wednesday and will provide insight into how near U.S. rates are to peaking.
As most European markets opened following the lengthy Easter weekend, the euro increased by 0.4 percent to $1.0903 while the pound increased by 0.5 percent to $1.2439.
