Top 5 stocks of the day: State Bank of India, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, Wipro, Grasim Industries, and HDFC Bank were the top gainers on the Nifty, while Hero MotoCorp, ONGC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, and JSW Steel were the top losers. The BSE midcap index gained 0.3 percent, while the smallcap index gained 1 percent. Except for auto, all other sectoral indexes ended in the green, with the PSU Bank index up 2% and the Nifty Bank index up 1%.

The benchmark indices finished on a high note, with the Nifty closing above the 19,700 barrier. The Sensex closed up 529.03 points, or 0.80%, at 66,589.93, while the Nifty ended up 147.00 points, or 0.5%, at 19,711.50. Around 2013 shares increased, 1559 shares decreased, and 174 shares were steady.

Top 5 stocks of the day: Ircon International gains 4%

Ircon International Ltd’s stock rose more than 4% after the business announced in a regulatory filing that it had received a Rs 144 crore order from railroads.

“(The company) has been awarded the work for Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning of Integrated Tunnel Communication Systems, OFC-based industrial grade network system including laying of OFC & other cables for Railway network including tunnels and stations in JiribamKhongsang section of Jiribam-Imphal new Railway Line Project,” Ircon stated in a notice.
