Women sacked after spy software reveals she fudged time at work, ordered to pay Rs 3 lakh

At the height of Covid-19, employers worldwide allowed their staff members the opportunity to work from home (WFH). Employers are still giving their employees the option to Work From Home (WFH) even while cases of Covid-19 are declining.

Work from home (WFH) provides benefits since it reduces the amount of time employees waste travelling to and from work. However, while working from the office, some individuals are quite productive while others are not.

Recently, a woman was ordered to pay Rs 3 lakh to her former employer for wasting time while working remotely. Some smart businesses have discovered techniques to prevent workers from misusing the perks of remote work.

A women Karlee Besse gets sacked for manipulating work hours, ordered to pay over Rs 3 lakh to her former employer

In British Columbia, a women by the name of Karlee Besse held an accounting position. She was, however, fired. Soon later, the woman came forward to say that Reach CPA, her previous employer, had fired her without cause. She also asked her company for Rs 3,03 lakh (5,000 Canadian dollars), which included outstanding salaries and severance pay. She was shocked when the boss admitted that she had altered the hours of work. The woman reportedly clock-in for more than 50 hours, but according to the employer, not all of that time was spent on work.

However, according to the company, TimeCamp software was set up to track the employee’s activity. The company claimed that Beesse’s timesheets were inconsistent with the software record.
Besse said that the software did not distinguish between her professional and personal time after the company’s revelations. She continued by saying that she worked on paper.

But after demonstrating the effectiveness of the software, the firm rejected Besse’s assertions. As a result, the judge ordered the woman to compensate her former employer.
