CM M.K. Stalin: 27% reservation for OBC in Medical AIQ is DMK’s victory for social justice

Tamil Nadu CM and DMK chief Stalin has said that 27% reservation for OBCs in medical courses is a victory for the state and for the DMK's struggle for social justice.

Stalin in his statement said, “The DMK government would take follow-up action for attaining such a complete social justice. Both the DMK and the state government will continue with its determined struggle for guarding social justice, which is justice for people.”

Benefit For EWS

The Union government has also made a 10 per cent reservation for the Economically Weaker Section(EWS) in the All-India Quota scheme. It is said that this reservation will be applicable for undergraduate and postgraduate medical and dental courses from the academic year, 2021-22.

Loss Of Opportunity

Last year , a case filed in the Madras High court by the DMK upheld the OBCs right to reservation in admission to medical courses said MK Stalin and in his statement said that approximately 10,000 OBC  in the past have lost opportunities as the Centre had not followed the reservation for OBCs.

The CM further talked about the benefit of this reservation that nearly 1,500 OBC students in MBBS and 2,500 OBC students in post-graduation in this academic year.
