Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan are back together in another film. After locking horns in Shaitaan earlier this year, the two stars have now reunited for De De Pyaar De 2. The makers released a hilarious new promo as advance booking opened, and fans are loving the duo’s playful role reversal.
De De Pyaar De Advance Booking Open, Ajay Devgn Roasts R Madhavan In Promo Video
In the video, Ajay and Madhavan joke about switching places since Shaitaan. This time, Madhavan plays the overprotective father who warns Ajay to stay away from his daughter. Ajay quickly reminds him how things were completely opposite before. He says with a grin, “Now you know how it feels when it’s about your daughter.” Madhavan laughs, admitting that was his “villain mode,” and now he’s in “parivarik papa mode.”
Ajay then calls him the “dushman of his love.” When Madhavan challenges him, saying he’ll see how Ajay manages to woo his daughter, Ajay fires back, “Come watch on November 14.” The fun exchange between the two stars has quickly gone viral.
R Madhavan Praises Ajay’s Working Style
During the film’s trailer launch, R Madhavan had nothing but good things to say about his co-star. He spoke about what impressed him while shooting Shaitaan was Ajay’s complete dedication to the story above all else. Madhavan called Ajay a team player who prioritises the film and shared, “He never says ‘main hero hoon toh mujhe aisi cheezein mat kaho.”
The actor went on to say that many lead actors would hesitate to take on certain roles that Ajay does with ease. He added, “The amount of enthusiasm that he showed for all of us, we got a chance to perform freely.” However, Madhavan admitted that playing a father in De De Pyaar De 2 was quite challenging for him.
The duo’s last outing together (Shaitaan) was a dark thriller where Ajay fought to save his family from terrifying supernatural forces and Madhavan was the villain. But De De Pyaar De 2 offers a complete change of mood. This sequel to the 2019 hit shifts gears into a light-hearted mix of love, laughter, and family drama.
The story continues from where the first film ended. Rakul Preet Singh reprises her role, and this time, Madhavan joins as her protective father, while Gautami Kapoor plays her mother. The setup promises plenty of funny and emotional moments, especially when Ajay’s character faces the ultimate test of impressing his girlfriend’s parents.
