EDUCATION: Karnataka is set to reopen schools amid strict Covid- 19 guidelines

The Karnataka government is all set to reopen schools from next week for several districts.The important guidelines are mentioned below.

The government of Kerala has announced that the schools in the state are set to reopen in certain districts from August 23.The schools will only reopen for districts where the covid-19 test positivity rate is less than 2 percent,as per the government.

The state government has issued several Covid-19 safety guidelines for the school administration to follow while attending offline classes.The announcement was made by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

CM Bommai said,”“They have said (technical experts) that once schools are opened, if the positivity goes above two percent in the area and province where the school is located, then the school should be closed for a week and cleaned and then reopened. We have agreed.“

Guidelines To Follow

*The schools will only reopen for districts where the covid-19 test positivity rate is less than 2 percent.

*The schools will shut down again  if the positivity rate increases once classes resume in the districts.

*All the students and staff members will wear a mask in school premises.

*Social distancing will be followed by the students and staff members strictly.All common areas such as swimming pools and assembly halls will remain closed.

*It is mandatory to be vaccinated and follow Covid-19 guidelines for all the students and working staff along with the parents who will be visiting the school.

*Non-vaccinated students,guardians and staff members will not be allowed to enter the school premises.

*The Covid-19 guidelines for schools will keep on changing with respect to the situation in the state.

The CM also added,””The districts in which the Covid prevalence is high – especially the border districts of Kerala and Maharashtra the schools should not be opened and only the districts where positivity is below two percent schools will be opened.”
