Cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeds 108.47 cr in India

On Monday, Ministry of Health And Family Welfare informed that India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 108.47 crores.

As per provisional reports, till 7 am today, 1,08,47,23,042 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far. This has been achieved through a total of 1,09,98,126 sessions.

More than 23 lakh (23,84,096) vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.

On Sunday, 8,25,554 people received their first dose, while 15,58,552 got their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) said.

The Government of India has been supporting the States and Union Territories by providing them vaccines against COVID-19 free of cost. So far, over 116 crore (1,16,59,92,955) vaccine doses have been provided to States and UTs through the government (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category.

The States and UTs have more than 5.6 crore (15,60,08,496) balance and unutilised COVID vaccine doses still available to be administered.

Meanwhile, India reported 11,451 fresh COVID-19 cases, 13,204 recoveries and 266 deaths in the last 24 hours, informed the Union Health Ministry. Out of that, Kerala reported 7,124 cases, 7,488 recoveries, and 21 deaths. Active cases account for 0.42 per cent of total cases which is the lowest since March 2020.
