Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari visited Genetic Life Sciences (Pharmacy) located in Wardha, Maharashtra on Thursday to take stock of the production of Remedesivir injection.
Remedesivir drug is used for the treatment of Covid-19. Demand for Remedesivir has also increased manifold amidst huge increase in Covid infection in the country.
Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandavia said on May 4 that the production of Remdesivir.
In the country has almost tripled to 1.05 crore per month and the government is working hard to increase the availability of this antiviral drug.
Mandavia said in a tweet that the production capacity of the drug crossed 1.05 crore vials per month on May 4.
Which was 37 lakh vials on 12 April this year. In this way the production capacity has increased almost three times .
