Dakar Rally 2023: The racing squad of Hero MotoCorp, Hero MotoSports Team Rally, won Stage 8 of the 2023 Dakar Rally. Sebastian Buhler, a teammate of Ross Branch, finished sixth on the stage. Since the team’s inception seven years ago, this is Hero MotoSports Team Rally’s second victory in the Dakar Rally competition. Mason Klein of the BAS World KTM Racing Team and Daniel Sanders of Red Bull Gas Gas Factory Racing respectively finished the stage in second and third place.
Due to flooding and strong rain, the rally’s seventh stage was abandoned. From Al Duwadimi to Riyadh, the Stage 8 ride spanned 824 kilometres, of which 346 kilometres were designated as the special stretch. The participants spent the night before Stage 8 at the Al Duwadimi bivouac in accordance with the impromptu marathon stage, while the support teams camped 500 kilometres away in Riyadh.
The riders will go through wadis and canyons on Stage 9’s 686km eastward route to Haradh.
