IIT Guwahati: offline classes resumed completely

IIT Guwahati: In a statement on Friday, The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati has recently announced to completely go on with the offline classes. Approximately, 7,400 students are now attending classes in physical mode with the batch admitted during the pandemic attending a full semester in person for the first time since the lockdown was imposed, the notification said.

Among all the IITs, IIT Guwahati is the first who brought all its students back to the physical mode class in March 2022. And, from now on all the academic activities will be held on the college premises.

The institute has all taken all the covid-19 precautions and is currently hosting a massive vaccine drive to ensure the safety of its students, the statement said.

“The campus is filled with zeal and enthusiasm again with the presence of students all across and the environment is full of life now. This will facilitate more intellectual interaction among the community and benefit everyone, including those who were dependent for their livelihoods on the IIT-G campus,” director TG Sitharam said. The students are now exploring a plethora of opportunities that they lacked during online classes, he said.
