India gives befitting reply to OIC for its J&K statement: Reeks of bigotry

India has given a befitting reply to the statement of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the third anniversary of the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. The Ministry of External Affairs has said that the statement of the OIC is motivated by a communal agenda. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, in response to media queries on Friday, said that the statement issued by the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Jammu and Kashmir is a symbol of bigotry. Bagchi further said that Jammu and Kashmir is and will remain an integral part of India.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that after the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, there is rapid development here. He has also accelerated the social and economic development in the valley. He said that the statement of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has always been inciting terrorists. He consistently makes such statements at the behest of a human rights violator and a notorious promoter of cross-border and international terrorism.

“The statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Jammu and Kashmir today reeks of bigotry,” Bagchi said

“As a result of long-awaited changes three years ago, it today reaps the benefits of socio-economic growth and development,” Bagchi said.

“The OIC General Secretariat, however, continues to issue statements on Jammu and Kashmir at the behest of a serial violator of human rights and notorious promoter of cross-border, regional and international terrorism,” he said in a clear reference to Pakistan.

“Such statements only expose the OIC as an organisation devoted to a communal agenda being pursued through terrorism,” he added.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) said in one tweet after another, ‘August 5th 2022 is the third anniversary of illegal and unilateral action in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir. After this, many illegal steps were taken in Kashmir including illegal demographic changes. Such illegal action can neither change the disputed status of Jammu and Kashmir nor affect the legitimate rights of the people of Kashmir.’

Recalling the preamble of the Islamic Summit on Jammu and Kashmir and the Council of Foreign Ministers, OIC said that we support and stand by the Kashmiri people for their legitimate right to self-determination. Apart from this, the OIC demanded to withdraw the decisions taken three years ago.
