US Iran War: The US-Iran conflict is moving to a new level, with Washington stepping up its economic offensive on Iran in addition to military pressure on Tehran.

The recent actions by the US are aimed at disrupting economic activities deemed critical to Iran’s international transactions and revenue generation, including cryptocurrency, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping. The U.S. government has also sanctioned over 60 people, firms, and vessels for their involvement in facilitating Iran’s oil revenues, military procurements, and other operations.

U.S. Secondary Sanctions on Countries Supporting Iran
The U.S. government has also issued warnings to countries and entities continuing to do business with Iran. U.S. officials have made it clear that any entity involved in turning Iran’s oil exports to revenue would be facing secondary sanctions from the US. The administration has set deadlines for countries and entities to stop activities identified as critical for Iran’s operations. Organizations engaged in money laundering on behalf of Iran may lose access to the US dollar network.
Trade of Petroleum: A Critical Target
Petroleum exports from Iran remain a focus amid this economic pressure campaign. The sanctions imposed by the US government are targeting companies, intermediaries, shipping companies, and vessels engaged in the shipment of petroleum products of Iran. The US State Department described the steps as an effort to disrupt the network that assists in the transfer of Iranian petroleum to international customers via other countries and shadow-fleets.
Campaign Will Create Pressure on Beijing and Others
US Iran War: The economic pressure campaign might lead to pressure on those countries that have some business relations with Tehran. The officials from the U.S. government said that there will be no exemptions of any kind from these sanctions, even for any country or financial institutions which assist in converting of Iranian oil into revenues. But the US government has not made a list of such countries that would be subject to these sanctions immediately, China being one of those that will be most affected by this sanction due to the economic significance that it holds in the trade of Iranian oil.
